Places are still available on the new FORS Professional TruckSmart training course. TruckSmart is a seven-hour, Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) accredited course focusing on vehicle roadworthiness, defect reporting and load safety – essential training for all commercial truck drivers, regardless of their area of operation.
TruckSmart will raise levels of knowledge to enhance awareness of the importance of truck safety and drivers’ own roles and responsibilities in ensuring that trucks are safe and roadworthy at all times.
The course helps FORS operators meet the requirements V1 Inspection and Maintenance Plan, V2 Defect Checks and V5 Safe Loading and Load Restraints.
A new eLearning module is also provided to refresh knowledge and to test key information taught in the classroom training. The module is designed for truck drivers, but will benefit commercial vehicle drivers across all sectors – including van drivers. It can also be used by fleet managers to gain first-hand experience of the material they are asking their drivers to study.
A TruckSmart toolkit is also available, featuring a range of resources and materials for internal communications to help managers adopt industry best practice, and to develop and implement an extensive truck safety programme.
